Where asbestos tends to show up in Littleton projects
- Popcorn ceilings: Widespread in older homes. Often asbestos-based and require testing before removal.
- Vinyl flooring + mastic: 9×9" floor tiles and black glue in kitchens, basements, and baths.
- Basement finishes: Drop ceilings, paneling, pipe wrap, and duct tape in older split-levels and ranches.
- Kitchen and bath demos: Wall/ceiling texture, joint compound, backer board, and adhesives from original builds.
- Detached garages & sheds: Old roof felt, transite siding, and exterior shingles often require clearance.
These materials are regulated under Colorado Reg. 8. The City of Littleton enforces inspection before permit.
